i think it's time to blog! :)

this past week has been extremely hectic, to say the least! i finished reading the biology book that i was frantically trying to get done AND wrote a decent report, WHICH i got an A on! thank you, thank you! :) once i actually got further into the book, i realized it was pretty good. the author presented climate change in a way that grasped the readers' attention and made the subject interesting to uninterested audiences. it had a neat story line, so needless to say, it wasn't that bad of a book, and i've learned my lesson about procrastination! (hopefully)
oh, and the global climate change quiz i was complaining about..wasn't too bad at all!

i figured out what classes i'm taking for next quarter....spanish 103, sociology 101,and intro to shakespeare. i don't know anything about sociology, so i'm really looking forward to that class. i think it's about people and how they react with one another, or something along those lines..i guess i'll find out in a few weeks! i'm also looking forward to shakespeare. i like shakespeare. i've only read a few of his plays/poems, thanks to high school English classes, and so far, i like his compositions...should be an interesting class, not to mention an interesting quarter!

tomorrow, one of my friends from high school is getting married (yes, another one!!) we swam together her senior year of high school, my sophomore year, and we also worked together at McDonalds...what an awesome way to bond with someone :) i couldn't be happier for her! i'm anxious to see how different this wedding is from the last one i attended...i'm also curious as to how the happy couple is going to celebrate their wedding anniversaries because tomorrow is february 29, a date which only counts every 4 years..lol who knows! a girl i graduated with was born on the 29th, so technically she'll only be 5 or 6 tomorrow! hah oh well..the wedding should be a lot of fun!

right now, i'm working on calculus homework. i swear it's never-ending! this past tuesday, we took our second midterm, and all i have to say in response is wow. it was pretty tough. i didn't feel we were given enough time to do the problems justice..no math problem should take an hour to complete! :( it just doesn't make sense..but that's mathematics.

exactly a week from today is my 19th birthday! :) i'm excited! i still have yet to determine what i'm doing that night..i think something with my family and maybe/probably something with my friends. i do know i have to work, but working on campus doesn't really seem like a job. it's way too fun! :)

hmm..back to calc...

hello everyone! i have some great news..i've read a total of 40 pages in my book since i last posted! lol i'll get it done in time..don't worry! :) i'm a little worried about what classes i'm going to take next quarter. i have somewhat of an idea, but some of the classes i was planning to take aren't being offered, which really stinks! i schedule for spring quarter on friday after 7:45 (i felt the need to include the time just to remind myself later) i want to make sure that i take the appropriate classes for my major and for my GECs. i want to be able to graduate in 4 years with my bachelor's degree in biology..so it's crucial to make sure i take the right amount of classes and in the right subjects. scheduling is a somewhat stressful process, as i've come to find out only having scheduled for two previous quarters.

tonight, there is an event called the Buckeye Supper Club which is taking place at one of the local bowling alleys. there is a new program starting on the lima campus..apparently each class is donating money periodically throughout their college careers, and when they become seniors, the money that has been collected is formed into a scholarship and given to an incoming freshman the following year who will be attending OSU Lima. i think this is an awesome idea! it's such a wonderful way for the senior class to give back to the university..and it's extremely beneficial to a student who would be priveleged enough to receive the scholarship!

sorry for making this such a short post..you can expect the next one to be substantially longer...because i have a feeling i'll have something amazing to chat about! oh..well, i can tell you that i took a spanish test today (yes, another one) and i feel pretty good about it, despite it's ridiculous length..it was one of the longest spanish tests that i have ever taken!

in relation to biology and the lecture i had today, i really don't like climate change..or global warming..or global climate change...ewwww.

anyways, have a good evening!

later on! :)

this has been a very eventful weekend! first off, one of my best friends got married yesterday! :) i could not be any happier for her, and i honestly can't believe it's over. all in all, i think the day went quite well. friday night, we had the wedding rehearsal, which took forever..but the food they had was really good! saturday was the wedding..i had to get my hair done at 8, make up at 10, then wedding at 2:30. i learned a lot about weddings yesterday. i had only been to two weddings in my entire life, and i also had never been in a wedding. i guess weddings always start at something:30 because it's good luck to get married on the upswing. something about good fortune, or everything in your marriage is going to be moving uphill? i also learned that catholic people have extremely weird rituals. i'm not going to describe this new found knowledge in detail so i don't offend...but i definitely felt lost whenever they would say something...i was a step behind i guess..hehe.

i have yet to attempt any homework from this past week. i have to study for my biology test, and i'm sorry to inform the reading audience that i haven't made any progress in my book..it's a sad situation, but knowing myself, i will have it done in time..it's just a matter of simply sitting down and doing it. if i set my mind to accomplishing something, i'll accomplish it..eventually...lol

i'm looking forward to this coming weekend..i'm going to go to bowling green to see my best friend susie :) i haven't been up there yet this year, although i keep telling myself i have to visit. i'm excited to see her new roommates (she moved into a house off campus with a few of her sister's friends) and i'm excited to see what BG is all about! she's always talking about it...speaking of friends, i need to call a few of them. it's so hard to keep in touch with everyone because we're all so busy and have different schedules. so far, i've managed to stay in contact with my closest friends from high school, and i hope i can remain in contact with them.

after this past week, i can officially say that i'm ready for the summer.

so..it's been a while since i last posted, but ahh! i think the stress of this quarter is finally starting to set in. i have so much stuff that keeps piling on top of me, i think i can actually feel my knees start to buckle. ok, maybe not, but seriously, the same situation arose last quarter. because each professor treats his/her class as if it is the only class that you are taking, they expect a lot out of you. but when each professor is expecting semi-sorta the same amount of work, it starts to become pretty stressful. the only advice i can give myself and the future college student is to PRIORITIZE and don't procrastinate. i procrastinated some calculus homework, and now i realize i probably should have attempted it a lot sooner..i don't understand the topics :( i also procrastinated a biology book...i now have but one week to read an entire book and write a report on it. where i am going to find this time i have no idea, but take this as an example of what NOT to do when you come face to face with the dreaded due date.

i really don't have a "brighter side" to discuss this time. today is valentine's day...YAY! the weather has been super bad (no pun intended) and my car is starting to look really dirty. i feel bad for it, but there isn't anything i can do until the weather gets better outside. sunday nights haven't been very fun thanks to mother nature. when working at mcdonalds, there is always that chance that you will have to work in the drive thru, directly in the cold. usually i'm put there because i don't complain very much..but secretly, i'm whining on the inside. sometimes i get frustrated when working there, but then i remember that everyone else that works there is in the same boat as me..then i can't help but smile and laugh because we have to put up with some not fun stuff! lol :)

alright, well it's time to get back to working on my beloved calculus homework as well as reading my biology book. oh, and later, i get to finish my spanish homework! i love college :)

i wish i had a valentine..

hey everyone! how was your weekend?! mine was pretty awesome, and yes, i feel the need to write about it! friday night, i went and saw some of my friends (and superior) from the office at OSU play guitar and sing at a local eating place, called, appropriately enough, The Meeting Place. they played extremely well, and i was with great company :) saturday, i went to Columbus to watch a Columbus Blue Jackets hockey game. despite my previous declaration, i actually must say i thoroughly enjoyed myself! i am now a fan of hockey...and no, i'm not a hypocrite. hockey on tv is boring..hockey in person is amazing! on sunday, my friend alex had her bridal shower. it was really simple and fun. but to tell you the truth, it feels a little weird that one of my friends, who i have known since kindergarten and practically grown up with, is getting married in less than 2 weeks. i guess i should start to expect that type of stuff now that i'm technically an adult and everything...but i don't know. do we ever really get over the shock of hearing that someone if getting married and starting a whole new chapter in their life?

on a lighter note, i aced my first calculus exam! :) i was completely surprised, to say the least. i felt it was a tough exam, but the professor is a very understandable individual and used a very reasonable grading scale. i also did really well on my spanish composition. speaking of foreign language, i'm actually really interested in foreign language. i took four years of French in high school and two years of Spanish. i thought about double majoring, maybe minoring in some kind of language..who knows! i might still do that..but i really do love biology! :) lol crazy, i know!

well, i've exhausted my resources and need to study for yet another biology quiz..honestly, i really like it..eh. ok...sometimes. lol
