tonight is the First Annual 80's Dance and Drive at school! i am very very excited! a bunch of my friends and i are going to be decked out in 80s gear from head to toe :)
i have never worn leggings before..this should be quite an adventure! ok ok, i lied. i have worn leggings before, but only when i was really little and looked cute in leggings. i'm not sure how i feel about older girls in leggings..lol if i can figure out how to put pictures into my blog, i will show everyone my finished outfit! and of course, the outfits of my friends because i am not going to look like a loser by myself.
i need to read Hamlet for my Shakespeare class. i like Shakespeare, but quite honestly, he doesn't make sense sometimes. i suppose i have to take the good with the bad!
have a lovely evening, everyone! :)
i'm going to go rock out to some 80s tunes!
later on!

Happy Memorial Day!
I feel like typing a blog in green. Green just so happens to be my favorite color! But anyways, this has been quite an eventful extended weekend. I worked three days at Mcdonalds, time which added up to roughly 30 hours. I should be getting a nice pay check next pay period...:)
This coming week is the last week of regularly scheduled classes. The week after is finals week, and then I am officially on summer break! I am sooooo excited!
Tomorrow, the Buckeye Supper Club is hosting another Wii Bowling Tournament. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend until it is pretty much over. I have class until 12:20, and it ends around 1:00. Oh well..I might still be able to watch a few people suck at video game sports! hehe
Wednesday is the 1st Annual 80's Dance, hosted by the Student Senate. I cannot wait! It's a dance and drive..everyone that comes has to bring 2 canned food items, and a large sum of the money, as well as the food, is going to a local poverty shelter. Not only is this event doing something good for the community, but it's also enabling students to get together and have a good time! I think I'm wearing a Flashdance-inspired ensemble..cut-off sweatshirt, black leggings, leg warmers...lol
I would just like to mention that David Cook won American Idol last Wednesday! Besides Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, I feel that he is one of the most talented people to ever win American Idol. His first album is going to be amazing..I can feel it!
Oh, and I got a hair cut! Yes! I now have bangs! YAY! My friend Neisha is a licensed cosmetologist who decided to go back to college, and she cut it for me. I absolutely love it!
College is all about changes..I know that first hand...no, not just hair cuts! Although, getting a hair cut can make you feel like a new person. College is about redefining yourself..discovering who you really are!
Update complete. Well, for the most part! I have a few applications to fill out. If I am able to obtain one of these positions, I will explain what I'm talking about later! If someone else receives this position, I will congratulate them..later! lol
Enjoy the rest of your evening!

i seem to enjoy posting on sundays..
yesterday was so much fun! i am a member of the Buckeye Scholars club on campus. i think i may have already explained this somewhere else in my blog..but nevertheless, as a group, we were supposed to be going to Chicago. our plans faltered, and instead, we took a trip to Cincinnati to see the Bodies Exhibit and to also go to Kings Island. i must say it was an amazing day! the Bodies Exhibit consisted of 16 donated cadavers, displayed in different ways to examine the human body. the exhibit took spectators on a journey through the systems of the body (respiratory, circulatory, nerve, etc.) in a very tasteful way. i was a little skeptical when i first heard about the exhibit, but after going, i see that it was actually a neat opportunity. i'm curious about the techniques they used to do some of the stuff, such as separate the blood vessels from the heart in all their entirity. they were also able to remove the entire nervous system from the body..very interesting stuff.
here's a little random tidbit i remember..the human heart begins beating at 5 weeks of life...in a human the size of a pea! amazing!
after the exhibit, we went to Kings Island and rode a total of 4 rides! yay..lol it was worth it though! the 4 included The Beast..a very awesome wooden rollercoaster. going to Kings Island makes me want to go to Cedar Point!
i am so very tired today..but i mustn't let that jeopardize my homework routine. i have an English worksheet due on tuesday, as well as Spanish homework due tomorrow afternoon. reading for sociology wouldn't be a bad idea either...
right now, i'm participating in some overdue spring cleaning in my room..it's slightly overwhelming! heh
the weather is beautiful!
later on :)

ps: i am the recipient of a $1000 scholarship awarded by the Honors Program on campus! i am SOOOO excited! it's going to make next year's expenses a lot easier!! :)

hey everyone! i hope you had a wonderful weekend :)
last week was pretty hectic! i managed to survive, but it was rather tough! ok, it wasn't tough at all..here are some highlights from last week:
the first week of May means May Week for OSU. during this week, OSU hosts a multitude of activities and events that are organized by students/faculty. this is a way for OSU campus life to interact and have fun while doing so! i participated in the 1st annual "Original Rules of Baseball Game" on Tues. it was so much fun! faculty/staff versus students..we played how they used to play back in the day..needless to say, the students were dominating when i left, only 30 minutes into the game. when the results were determined, the faculty won a mere 8-7. hopefully, there will be a sequel.. lol
on wednesday, i went to an OSU photo shoot! the publications office has a photo shoot every spring for OSU students to come and get photographed. these pictures may then end up in any publications that are sent out by the campus. so, i could technically have my face on one of the pamphlets a future student receives from the university..how exciting! lol well, i'm not quite sure how i feel about it yet..only time will tell! i hope they choose a good picture...
other activities included bands, pizza, smoothies, a mechanical bull, corn hole, hillbilly golf, charicatures (or something spelled similarly), as well as many many more activities! for Cinco de Mayo, there was a salsa tasting booth. just fun stuff like that to bring everyone on campus together!
yesterday, i went to my sister's last dance competition for this dance season. overall, our team did really well...but the judging was horrible, and the competition itself was ran terribly. it was a longgggg day! in june, there is a tap convention held in columbus. there are four renowned choreographers that are going to be teaching tap combinations..i will definitely be in attendance! :)
i would write more, but i have to go to work in a little bit. good 'ol mickey d's!
have a good evening everyone!
ps- only a few more weeks left of school...yay! GO BUCKS!
later on :)

[as a side note: i didn't make puppy chow for the bake sale :(]
[[actually, i didn't make anything for the bake sale..lol]]
I MET GORDON GEE! That's right! The university president, E. Gordon Gee, came to Lima, Ohio. The Spring for Scholarships banquet was very successful and definitely made me tired. There were about 240 people in attendance, all gathered together to celebrate and raise money for students. Dr Gee came to speak to everyone and mingle (aka: take masquantities of pictures) The day after, he came to campus. A huge group of students and faculty members made Gee-shirts: the front supported his classic red bow tie; the back supported Brutus with Gee's signature glasses and once again the bow tie. Gee has a lot of big plans for the future of the Ohio State University. I hope he sticks around for a while!
So..a few of my friends are already done with school. I can't believe it! I have about 4 weeks left of my spring quarter; it can't end fast enough! There are a lot of events coming up in the office, speaking of which, I need to update my calendar! Thanks for reminding me!
I have some good news regarding a new job. I was reccommended to work as a writing tutor in the Writing Center at school, and I received the position! The Writing Center is a great place for students to go if they need extra help with any of their subjects, such as math, science, spanish, writing, etc. It's also a great opportunity to meet people and make friends! I'm super excited. I start in the fall. Hopefully I can handle everything that gets thrown my way!
Tonight, I'm taking some time off from going out with friends to get caught up on my homework. It's not like I'm behind or anything, but I want to get everything organized for the weeks to come. I'm a big fan of organization! It's a key ingredient in a successful college career! :) I bet you've never heard that before..heh
Ok ok..have a good May 1st, everyone!
later on :)
